Iyengar Yoga: Named after its founder B.K.S. Iyengar (1918-2014), Iyengar Yoga is a systematic practice of the yoga postures with an emphasis on precise alignment and therapeutics. Iyengar Yoga makes use of props such as belts, blankets, blocks, bolsters, and chairs to assist students in achieving precise postures safely and completely according to their particular body type and needs.
Lengthen & Strengthen: A gentle approach that improves length, strength and balance in the body while keeping the mind calm and focused. An emphasis on breath and body awareness with graceful and deliberate transitions between poses.
Slow Flow Vinyasa: In a world of fast pace everything, Slow Flow takes the time to find peace and harmony within our minds and bodies. By focusing on the breath and holding postures fosters a supple and toned body. This class is soft and smooth but always challenging. Modifications will be provided. Created for all levels to enjoy.
Flow & Restore: Combining the best of vinyasa and restorative yoga! The class includes a heat generating flow to unwind and build heat in the body and ends with a restorative sequence and long savasana to prepare the body and mind feeling peaceful and renewed. All levels are welcome.
Yoga for Healthy Aging: Specific sequences designed to restore health to select areas of the body. Focus area changes each week.
Yoga for Beginners: A class designed for beginners. Never been to a yoga studio or a yoga class? This class is for you. Nothing fancy, just 75 minutes of the absolute basics. Posture, balance, proper alignment and mechanics is the basis of clear and patient instruction. Of course, current students are welcome to attend! Afterall, it would be wise for all of us to come to the mat with a beginner's mind.
Yoga with Weights: Complete, total body workout. Add dumbbells and resistance bands to your practice to tone, sculpt and lengthen every major muscle group in your body. The use of weights allows for more intentional movement, deeper access into each pose and added muscle stimulation – allowing you to become your own, personal adjuster!
